A group of stag do lads chanted back at vegan activists who stormed a steakhouse playing cow screams.
Groom David Elvin was inside the restaurant handcuffed to a dwarf dressed as an Oompa Loompa and led retaliation chants after jumping on a table.
He and his hired dwarf encouraged his fellow revellers and other diners to chant "stand up if you love meat" and "you're not singing any more".
They were responding to protesters from Direct Action Everywhere, who stormed the Brighton restaurant waving anti-meat placards while playing recordings of cows being slaughtered.
David, 31, was out with 12 of his pals on the night, reports The Sun .
His friend Dan said: "It was all a bit surreal."Dave had just been handcuffed to a dwarf dressed as an Oompa Loompa - and the next thing these people rushed in with their placards and playing recordings of cows dying.
"Next thing our Oompa Loompa jumped up on the table and started shouting it at the top of his voice.
“That was the cue for everyone else in the restaurant to join in."
Dan said the restaurant manager was grateful for the lads' support, and even brought them a round of free drinks.
While one activist gave a speech urging customers not to eat meat, the patrons of Touro Steakhouse, in Brighton, remained seemingly unbothered.
And as protesters played a disturbing recording of animals allegedly being slaughtered, customers continued to chat.The clip begins with protesters quietly walking into the restaurant whilst unsuspecting customers are eating their steaks.
The person filming the video - who is a vegan - can be heard saying: “This smells horrible, look at all the flesh.”
But as a spokeswoman attempts to give a speech about the benefits of veganism, patrons can be heard jeering and one mimics a cow mooing whilst waiters can be seen arguing with the protestors.
Behind the camera, someone says “they’re letting us protest but they’re eating the flesh of animals in front of us”.
The protesters remained in the popular steakhouse for 20 minutes before departing to stand outside.
As they exit, the crowd of disgruntled meat eaters can be heard booing, whistling and chanting “you're not singing anymore” at the departing group.
A spokeswoman for Direct Action Everywhere Brighton said: “In a time where we are experiencing mass environmental destruction, largely due to our unsustainable and unethical food choices, it is paramount that we put our egos and selfishness aside and accept that we are all connected, we are all animals.“We can no longer ignore the suffering and pain we cause. We are not the only sentient beings that inhabit this planet.”
Madsu Sudan Galtam, manager at Touro, said he called the police but they never attended the incident.
The steakhouse offers customers an unlimited selection of sirloin steak, lamb, chicken, pork, with a salad and selection of cured meats for just £22.95.
It is estimated that the number of vegans in the UK has quadrupled to 650,000 since 2011.
